Magnetoception

My lips are parched for your kisses.

My body yearns for your touch,

like a seed groping blindly sunward.

Struggling in the firm grip of duties holding us apart,

our magnetic fields strain to bridge the gap.

All my electrons point due north.

Nothing can be seen in between

but solid objects are as ether,

compared to this pulling force.

My dreaming mind ventures forth

homing in on you, where dreams flow uphill

and passion puddles on a mountain full of stars.
